Gary R. Mitnick, D.O.

Dr. Mitnick has provided exceptional, highly-personalized healthcare to patients in the Channel Islands area since 1980. Born and raised in Los Angeles, his own father was a Family Practice physician who retired to the beautiful Channel Islands. After graduating cum laude from the UC Santa Barbara and University of Health Sciences, Des Moines, Dr. Mitnick returned to California to practice in 1980. He is well known and respected in the community for practicing quality medicine and is on the medical staff of three local hospitals. Dr. Mitnick has been affiliated with the teaching staff of University of Health Sciences, Des Moines, Ia., and with the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, in Pomona, CA. He was head of Emergency Medicine for 3 years at Oxnard Community Hospital. More recently, he served as Head of the Committee for New Research Protocols, and was honored by St. John’s Regional Medical Center for 25 years of outstanding service. Dr. Mitnick is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the California Medical Association, the American College of Osteopathic Family Practioners, and on the Board of the Ventura County Medical Association. Dr. Mitnick enjoys regular Continuing Medical Education (CME) Conferences, both national and international, on the most recent developments in medicine and patient care. He is an avid boater, has been married to his college sweetheart for 31 years, and has 2 grown children who are active in the local community.
